Application<\/strong> for conducting an academic research study <strong>(original document required; electronic signature is permitted and recommended):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"715\" data-end=\"1311\"><a href=\"https:\/\/aslimnica.lv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/1_Pielikums_Iesniegums_akademiska_petijuma-veiksanai-1.docx\">Application form for academic research (for electronic completion in Latvian).<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"715\" data-end=\"1311\">The application shall be completed electronically and signed by the applicant and the scientific supervisor of the study. If the applicant or the scientific supervisor is not an employee of the Hospital, the application must also be signed by the Hospital\u2019s responsible contact person, who assumes responsibility for the conduct of the research at the Hospital, including familiarisation of the research personnel involved with the internal regulations of the respective structural unit and other binding documents.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1316\" data-end=\"1452\"><strong>2. Research protocol<\/strong> (including the title of the study, list of investigators, study aim, and a detailed section on Materials and Methods).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1457\" data-end=\"1553\"><strong>3. These include:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"3488\" data-end=\"3973\">\n<li data-start=\"3488\" data-end=\"3521\">\n<p data-start=\"3490\" data-end=\"3521\">Educational process research;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3522\" data-end=\"3564\">\n<p data-start=\"3524\" data-end=\"3564\">Research programme or project studies;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3565\" data-end=\"3593\">\n<p data-start=\"3567\" data-end=\"3593\">Epidemiological studies;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3594\" data-end=\"3973\">\n<p data-start=\"3596\" data-end=\"3973\">Registries and similar activities that fall outside the scope of Cabinet Regulation No. 192 of 26 March 2024 \u201cRegulations Regarding Clinical Trials of Medicinal Products for Human Use\u201d and Cabinet Regulation No. 455 of 15 August 2023 \u201cProcedures for Conducting Clinical Trials of Medicinal Products for Human Use and Performance Studies of In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Devices\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3975\" data-end=\"4109\"><strong>If the study is funded by any of the following sources, the research may be initiated only after signing a contract with the Hospital:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol data-start=\"4111\" data-end=\"4589\">\n<li data-start=\"4111\" data-end=\"4279\">\n<p data-start=\"4113\" data-end=\"4279\">Direct funding from EU programmes and projects (H2020 and successor framework programmes, cross-border programmes, projects administered by VIAA, CFLA, LIAA, etc.);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4280\" data-end=\"4407\">\n<p data-start=\"4282\" data-end=\"4407\">Direct state funding (VPP, Latvian Science Council, state institutions, programmes administered by VIAA, CFLA, LIAA, etc.);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4408\" data-end=\"4552\">\n<p data-start=\"4410\" data-end=\"4552\">Funding received through research organisations (including projects whose primary financial source is mentioned in the previous two points);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4553\" data-end=\"4589\" data-is-last-node=\"\">\n<p data-start=\"4555\" data-end=\"4589\" data-is-last-node=\"\">Funding from other legal entities.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"z-0 flex min-h-[46px] justify-start\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"mt-3 w-full empty:hidden\">\n<div class=\"text-center\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pointer-events-none h-px w-px absolute bottom-0\" aria-hidden=\"true\" data-edge=\"true\"><\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]Applications for research are reviewed and coordinated by the Specialist in Academic Research Affairs of the Research Department.
